How we help
A late-stage diagnosis brings a lot at once. We focus on three areas.
Supportive services
No one should have to manage advanced cancer on their own.
We fund supportive services like care management, for patients and for the people who care for them, so the day-to-day feels lighter and there’s more room for the rest of life.
For patients and caregivers: tell us what you needEducation
Cancer Pathfinder
In review with cliniciansCancer information in plain language
Understanding your cancer makes it easier to talk with your care team. Our first tool, Cancer Pathfinder, puts cancer information into plain language and helps you get your questions ready.
Cancer Pathfinder explains what the National Cancer Institute’s PDQ® summaries say about the cancer you describe, including general information on how it’s treated, with numbered sources you can check. It also helps you prepare questions for your next appointment.
-
Step 1
Tell it what you know
A few short questions about your cancer type, stage, biomarkers and where you are in treatment. If you don’t know an answer, say so, and it becomes a question for your care team.
-
Step 2
Read about your type of cancer
A summary for patients and families, adapted from the National Cancer Institute’s PDQ® information and explained in plain language. The numbered sources link to the exact section of the original, so you can read what it says for yourself.
-
Step 3
Find clinical trials that match your cancer
Cancer Pathfinder looks at your cancer type, stage, biomarkers and treatment so far, and finds studies on ClinicalTrials.gov that are enrolling people like you. You’ll see what each one is testing and where it’s running, ready to talk over with your care team.
-
Step 4
Empowering meaningful conversations with your care team
Walk into your appointment feeling ready. Pick the questions that matter to you, add your own, and print a summary to bring along, so you and your oncologist can have a real conversation about your care.
Cancer Pathfinder is for education only. It isn’t medical advice or a treatment plan, and it doesn’t replace your care team. For now, only invited reviewers can sign in.

You have a voice in your care.
We want you, and the people who care for you, to feel ready to use it: to ask your questions, to say what matters most to you, and to be heard. We help you find the support you need along the way.
